This Week’s Progress Report

I had an "interesting" week, as far as eating and exercising go.  I experienced the winter blahs, was unmotivated to exercise, and had a few battles with the sugar monster. 

The results:  I slept in more than getting up to exercise this past week.  I ate mini Twix and Milky Way candy bars during the afternoon slump at work, almost every single day.  And I absolutely had to have sweet bread the other day!  Don't why it was specifically sweet bread; all I know is nothing else would satisfy me! 

Not a pretty report card, but I want to learn from this past week and move on.  I have to acknowledge that I'm not perfect, I will slip up now and then, and it's OK!!  Otherwise, my perfectionist side will come out and scold me!  And Ms. Perfectionist is terribly critical!

Besides relaxing and getting caught up on things around the house this weekend, I want to make a plan for next week's workouts and meals.  I want to be better prepared so I can continue moving forward with my two overall health goals.

We all make mistakes. The positive thing is you’re not going to be hard on yourself. You picked yourself up, and you’re ready to move forward. That can be hard to do sometimes.

Sounds frustrating. But by even being aware, you’re learning more about your body and its desires…and you can apply this to getting better every week.

That’s what I’m trying to get in the mindset of doing: learn from slip ups and move forward.
That in and of itself can be challenging at times!

I know what you mean about the perfectionist in you, I’ve had perfectionism issues, too….. being aware of it is key though, and you know what to do to get back on track. :)

Perfectionism can have its good points, but more often than not, it makes me my own worst critic. I’m very hard on myself, which isn’t always best! But yes, being aware of this and wanting to change is key!
