Rosy Lip Hues

Rosy lip hue is perfect because it gives you a youthful look without necessarily giving you a young look.

Lips can tend to lose some of their color with age, and unfortunately they can also become much more prone to becoming dry. Choosing ultra bright colors that feature heavy pigments is not the right path to take in this particular stage of life. Instead, you should be choosing sheer lipsticks and sheer lip glosses in order to add sheen and to hydrate your lips instead. These things are going to help your lips look healthier and fuller. Choose shades that are "natural but better" such as pinky beige and rose. These shades mitigate the appearance of any fine lines by reflecting light away.

1 - Choose the proper hue. The most flattering shade for your lips is likely going to be close to your normal, natural lip color, but it should also complement your individual skin tone. Some examples of lip color hues that happen to be universally flattering include pinky brown, beige pink, nude, rosy brown and blackberry, so consider giving one of these a shot.

2 - Now you are going to want to line your lips in order to prevent any color from seeping into those pesky vertical lines. You can use a lip pencil that coordinates well with your lipstick, and you can line the natural border of your lips, beginning with the top lip. Make sure that you pay particular attention to the natural V shape of your top lip. Now move underneath the bottom lip and repeat the process again. If you want to build fullness, you can fill in the entire border of both lips.

3 - Now you are going to want to apply the color. You can use a lip brush for the application process, as the synthetic fibers are going to help the gloss or the lipstick adhere properly while filling the lines in as putty would. Blend from one corner to the other, and then press your lips together so that you can seal the shade in.

4 - Finally, the finishing process: To add additional sheen and a feeling and look of fullness, you can dab your lipstick in the center of your mouth using a clear gloss. This has a powerful effect on the lips and adds fullness and sheen to complete the look.

I concocted this version of the stuffed pepper while playing in the kitchen one day and was pleased with the results. I used brown rice for a healthier twist and chose lean, ground sirloin. Tofu would work as a replacement for the meat, though.  You could also replace the tomato sauce with chopped tomatoes, which I bet would taste heavenly if fresh from the garden!

This recipe serves 6*, so please feel free to adjust the recipe if cooking for fewer people.  Then again, these make for a good lunch the next day.  :)

  • 3 bell peppers (green, red, yellow… any color will do)
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup uncooked brown rice
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp olive oil or nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 pound ground sirloin or ground turkey
  • 1 cup corn (frozen works great)
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded low-fat cheese (any flavor)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 C).

Combine water, rice, and ¼ tsp salt in saucepan.  Cover, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a low simmer.  Cook until rice has absorbed the water and is tender – about 30 minutes.

As rice is cooking:
Rinse peppers and cut in half vertically, or cut just the top off.  Remove the stem, seeds, and the membranes inside the peppers. Set aside.

In a large pan/skillet over medium heat, add oil or spray pan with nonstick cooking spray.  Add chopped onions, and cook just until slightly tender, about 4 minutes.  Remove onions to a dish, and set aside.

Place the ground meat in that same pan and cook until evenly browned.  Drain fat.**

Add onions, corn, garlic, Worcestershire, tomato sauce, and seasonings to meat.  Cook on medium-low heat.  Add rice and gently combine.  Turn heat to very low.

Fill large pot with warm water that has been salted and bring to a boil. Immerse peppers in water for 2 minutes and remove from water.  Set peppers in a large baking dish with hollowed side up.

Fill each pepper with meat and rice mixture.  Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.  Any leftover mixture can be stored in a container and used with salsa as a topping for tortilla chips!

Bake in oven for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and lightly golden brown.

Let cool for a few minutes and dig in!

*Cutting just the tops of each pepper will provide a pretty dish for the stuffing and result in one, hearty serving.  You can increase the number of peppers from 3 to 4 if using this method.

**I like to pour off any grease from meat into a used container, such as an old pasta sauce jar.  Then I wipe off the side of the pan with a paper towel.  Be careful about draining grease directly into your sink as the grease can harden and clog the drain.  And please keep in mind that hot grease can cause nasty burns!  Be careful not to spill any on yourself!

Fat is actually good for you when you eat the right varieties, and yes, there are some varieties of fat that do more good than anything else. Good fat, and eating healthy fat will benefit your health rather than harm it, and eating fat is not what makes you gain weight. Good fat is good for you, it's healthy, it's great, and it may even help you lose weight rather than gain.

It's easy to fall in love with fat. The difference between many people, however, is that some people have restraint and some simply do not have any restraint at all. You need to understand the difference between good fats and not-so-good fats in order to benefit from the health benefits that fats have to offer. When it comes to eating healthy fat you should be going for omega 3 fatty acids and polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats and other types of healthy fats. Unfortunately, too many foods in this day and age contain saturated fats, and even worse, trans-saturated fats, which are the worst possible types of fat that you can consume.

Omega 3 fatty acids are a type of fat that can be found in oily varieties of fish and other sources such as flaxseed. Oily fish is the best source of these fats, which have been proven to have an immense amount of health benefits including increasing your intelligence, warding off cancer, benefiting your weight loss and fat loss effort and promoting healthy pregnancy.

Creamy Concealer

Choosing a concealer to lighten dark circles will help to life your lids the appearance of a light lift while providing your face with a nice overall glow.

1 - Make sure that you choose the right hue. Choose something yellow based that is two shades lighter than your own skin tone.

2 - Now apply it using a concealer brush with a small head. Apply a little near your lower lashes at the innermost corner of your eyes and then the hollows of your nose. Tap lightly and blend gently with a finger for the best results.

3 - Finally, set it using a light dusting of a loose, sheer yellow toned powder to lock your concealer in its place.

Hydrating Foundation

A hydrating foundation product is going to be key because it will address your fine lines, your sagging skin and your sun spots all at the same time. Creamy formulas are good for moisturizing, plumping up skin that is drooping and evening out your tone. Avoid mattes and powders, because they will make your wrinkles appear more pronounced.

1 - Choose the proper hue. Test different hues out until you find the one that fits. Choose a color lighter, one just right and one that is darker to your skin tone, and make stripes from your cheek to your jaw to test them out. Check in different types of lighting - Which one disappears into your skin seamlessly?

2 - Now apply it by patting a little bit into the areas that need to be evened out such as red spots and blemishes using a makeup wedge, a fingertip or a makeup brush. Blend in an upward direction in the direction of your hairline to get a natural effect. Do not go overboard! It's unnecessary!

3 - Use a light coat of yellow toned, loose powder on your chin, your nose and your forehead if your skin is on the oilier side. Apply using a velour puff or a blush brush to lock your foundation and to smooth the texture.

  7. Breathing properly can help us to think more clearly and remember things more clearly,
  8. Breathing properly can enhance our muscle control.

Rhythmic Breathing

When you inhale, you are bringing oxygen into your lungs. The act of breathing is also responsible for circulating blood all around the body. When you exhale, then, you expel out stale air as well as carbon dioxide and other gases. If you hold your breath while you are exerting physical effort in any way, then the carbon dioxide remains in your lungs and it accumulates in the body in such a way that it allows the muscles and other vital tissues in the body to become weakened. Holding the breath is also capable of negatively increasing the blood pressure, which can make you feel tense and also can waste your energy in bad ways. For this reason, it is vitally important that your breathing be rhythmic and continuous, especially during exercise.

Shallow Breathing

Many people are not breathing deeply enough, but rather are only breathing into their upper chest and they are not getting enough oxygen into the depths of their lungs. It is vitally important that you learn how to breathe deeply in order for you to fill your lungs, ensuring that your body is getting enough oxygen that your body can be energized and purified properly. Pilates and other exercises like yoga can help us with this, by teaching us how to breathe more deeply and more fully with every breath.

1 - Kapalabhati - This is a breathing technique that is used for cleansing. Learn this breathing technique if you want to cleanse your air ways and open up your breathing, increasing your energy and your wellness in the process.

2 -Easy Pose, also known as Sukhasana - This is a classic meditative pose that is typically performed after corpse pose, though it also fits in well at the beginning of a yoga sequence. It will straighten your spin, slow down your metabolism for calmness, promote inner tranquility and keep your mind feeling still and satisfied.

3 -Cat Pose, also known as Bidalasana -
This pose teaches you to initiate some movement from the center of your body and to coordinate your breath with your movement. These are two vital themes in any yoga practice.

4 -Dog Pose, also known as Adho Mukha Shvanasana - This pose improves spinal flexibility while stretching the hips and the middle back and low back, rejuvenating your body and helping to prevent future back problems in the process.

6 - Half Spinal Twist, also known as Ardha Matsyendrasana - If you do this pose properly, it will lengthen and strengthen your spine. This pose also happens to be beneficial for your liver, your kidney and your adrenal glands as well.

7 - Locust Pose, also known as Salabhasana - This pose mainly targets your lower back, strengthening your abdominal muscles, your arms and your legs at the same time. This pose also generally entails rapidly moving unlike most poses in yoga.

8 - Wind Relieving Pose, also known as Pavanamuktasana - This pose works primarily on your body's digestive system, helping to eliminate excess gas from within your stomach.

9 - The Corpse Pose, also known as Savasana - This is considered to be a classic pose for relaxation and can be practiced as a final relaxation as well as in between other asanas. It looks simple but is actually a tricky one to perform.

There are hundreds of asanas for you to learn. When it comes to yoga for busy people, the best thing that you can do is find the ones that generate the best results for you and work them into your day whenever possible.

There is absolutely nothing worse in the world than having skin that is dry, itchy and uncomfortable. Dry skin is capable of happening at any time throughout the year, but it seems to become much more prevalent during the winter months. Here is what you need to know about dry skin, and the skin care advice that you need to overcome your dry skin once and for all:

Why is dry skin so common in the winter? - In the winter months, the low temperature, the low humidity and the strong winds all work hard to deplete your skin of its natural lipids layer, which is what is responsible for keeping your skin nicely moisturized throughout the rest of the year. There are other things that suck the moisture out of your skin including the dry air from your furnace or another heating source.

Skin Care Advice for Dry Skin

1. Keep your water lukewarm rather than hot, because hot water is capable of robbing your skin of the moisture that it needs, causing your skin to become dry. If you must have a hot shower, try keeping your showering to a minimum and try to shower only once every day. Skip the hot tub, too, because the hot water and the chemicals can really be torture for already dry skin.

2. Make sure that you are moisturizing your skin after your showers or washing your hands, because moisturizer is truly the key when it comes to maintaining skin that is soft and supple. Apply the moisturizing product while your skin is still partially damp. For the best possible effect, you should pat your skin dry rather than rubbing it with your towel before you apply the lotion or moisturizing product.

3. Make sure that you are exfoliating on a weekly basis, or semi-weekly. Moisturizing products are going to be significantly more effective when you use them on skin that has been fully and properly exfoliated. You should be using a scrub in your shower and you should be exfoliating the skin on your face using a mild scrubbing product intended specifically for your face. Scrubbing your skin is best done when the skin is dry, surprisingly enough. Apply the scrub to your skin while it is dry, before you turn the shower on. If it is not moist enough for this, mix it with some motion. Massage the scrub in your skin for a few minutes in order to get the best possible results.

This skin care advice makes up the foundation for improving your dry skin once and for all.
