I mean, think of all the things that you have to consider: Morning sickness, pregnancy diets, routine physician visits, keeping all of the dates straight. All of the happy and truly wonderful and exciting moments can quickly turn into hectic days if you are not careful. There is something that you can do to help yourself focus, however, which is to have fun with countdown pregnancy tickers, unique images that count and commemorate special dates, days and moments when it comes to your pregnancy.

Some social networking websites like Facebook and Myspace offer countdown pregnancy tickers, but there are also a number of individual websites that offer them as well. Two examples of countdown pregnancy ticker websites are http://www.tickerfactory.com and http://www.lilypie.com.

Lily Pie - Lily Pie, at http://www.lilypie.com, offers pregnancy tickers, birthday tickers for babies and children, tickers for trying to conceive, tickers for adoption, tickers for breastfeeding, memorial tickers, anniversary tickers and a number of other unique tickers for unique purposes. Lily Pie is one of the original ticker websites, focusing primarily on pregnancy and childbirth countdown tickers.

Ticker Factory - Ticker Factory, at http://www.tickerfactory.com, offers pregnancy due date calculators, cycle planners, pregnancy milestone tickers, pregnancy due date tickers, baby and child age tickers, anniversary tickers, event tickers and a number of other unique and specialized tickers for different purposes.

Creating a countdown pregnancy ticker, or other fun pregnancy and childbirth related tickers can give you something to do, and a unique way to keep track of important information like your pregnancy due date. A ticker is essentially a customizable animation or graphic that you can create, customize and then post anyplace that you like including in your blog, on your website, in pregnancy forum message boards, on social media websites and in your e-mails. This way, not only will you have something that you can keep track of yourself, but you can also broadcast it to friends and family members so that they can also keep track of your very special occasion.

If you are expecting a baby, or trying to conceive, and you want a way to keep track of important days and milestones, such an image ticker is a really good idea. Pregnancy countdown tickers and trying to conceive tickers will help you keep track of important information while you simultaneously have the ability to share a cute graphic representation of your upcoming special event. There is no greater way to announce an upcoming birth or to let special people know that you are trying to conceive, than to use a graphical ticker to get the message across.

A Little Link Lovin’ http://nutritionfitnesslife.com/link-love/ http://nutritionfitnesslife.com/link-love/#comments Fri, 27 Jun 2008 12:00:36 +0000 Susan http://nutritionfitnesslife.com/?p=294

The kind of mood I've been in this week - tropical

I'd like to do some shout-outs, high-5's, props, kudos, pats on the back... whatever you want to call it. But I tell ya, it's hard to narrow down the list cause there are super great and fun posts by all the blogs I read! Let me see if I can highlight just a few... OK, a handful...

But first!

I wrote a guest post over at Life is a Marathon while super cool Melanie is having a blast at the beach in Florida. She's on vacation, so I wrote a post about exercising while on vacation. Yes, they CAN go together like rama lama lama ke dinga de ding a dong. (Sorry, sorry. I couldn't resist.) So if you're going through Susan withdrawals this weekend, you can find me over there. And check out the rest of Melanie's blog too while you're at it.

I love the name of this new blog I started reading: Fitarella. Does that not put you in a Disney-esque mood? (OK, so I'm a Disney fanatic, what can I say??) ;) Well, Jacqueline just landed a voice over gig! That's no small feat, folks! You check out this link here, or from her site, to listen to her voice. Bright, clear, and professional, no? OK, I'm impressed.

No Calories Needed is on a roll! He posted a list of healthy changes he's been working on for the past few weeks. No sodas, caffeine, or sweets??!!! OK, I'm impressed again.

Many of you are participating in the 100 Push-Ups Challenge. If you haven't heard of this 6-week program, and you're interested, no worries! You can still sign up. Weight Loss Journal gives a good overview along with his personal plan/progress. Keep it up! You can do it!

MizFit always offers great insights, and I really liked hearing her thoughts on emotional eating. She gives some excellent ideas to help nip emotional eating in the bud!

I enjoy reading Living Healthy in the Real World. (Sagan, I gotta list an oldie, but goodie here.) I admire Sagan's positive self body image and liked her post that encouraged readers to think positively about one's body. A fun - and important - exercise. What do you like about your body???? My teeth are really straight and white... no braces! :D

Another blog that is new to me and that I've been enjoying is Bag Lady's Blather. I absolutely love the beautiful photos she takes of her very very large backyard. She is a source of uncanny wit and wisdom. Why is she called the Bag Lady, you ask? She creates CartSmart Bags for your shopping cart, all kinds of colors and patterns.

The ever lovely (inside and out) Lynnae listed inexpensive ways to spend time with a loved one at beingfrual.net. (another "oldie" but goodie) It's a great "warm fuzzy" post... and hey, may give some great ideas for this weekend! (And check out the wedding photo. Is that not a beautiful bride?)

So many other blogs I think are the bee's knees, but I think this is a good place to stop... otherwise I'd keep going and going!

I hope you have a wonderful and active weekend!

Link Love – Talking Trash and Super Skinny Models http://nutritionfitnesslife.com/link-love-talking-trash-and-super-skinny-models/ http://nutritionfitnesslife.com/link-love-talking-trash-and-super-skinny-models/#comments Fri, 16 May 2008 12:00:15 +0000 Susan http://nutritionfitnesslife.com/2008/05/16/link-love-talking-trash-and-super-skinny-models/ Hey, I just joined the WOMAN Challenge (Women and girls Out Moving Across the Nation) this week. (Thanks for the inspiration, MizFit!) It's an 8-week fitness challenge for women to exercise at least 30 minutes or get in 10,000 steps each day. Registration is free, and you can progress along virtual treks across the nation by earning points for each day of exercise you accomplish. If you complete the entire challenge, you can get a certificate and, better yet, the knowledge that you've done something really good for yourself (but a certificate would look really good on the fridge). ;)

I'm all for healthy, fit models, and I'm glad they're out there! However, it is my belief the modeling world is still inundated with super skinny models or at least with the pressure to be super skinny. Leslie from the Weighting Game provides an excellent example of unhealthy modeling standards to which many of these young girls are held. Since when was a 23-inch waist considered fat for a woman?! That's unrealistic for most of the population. (These kind of things just get my blood boiling!)

OK, time for some happy thoughts! Merry of Cranky Fitness fame wrote an excellent post about the dangers of trash talking yourself. If you think it, say it, you'll start believing it - like a self-fulfilling prophecy. So, focus on your positive qualities and accomplishments, folks! I know I could use a good dose of happy-self-thoughts as I can be really hard and critical of myself.

I love dance! I love the expression and exercise, and over at The Great Fitness Experiment, Charlotte's videos of her hip-hop class just inspired me! Yes, there was an unfortunate mishap, and I feel really bad for Charlotte's injured friend, but you've got to admire her drive! Seeing everyone staying in step, workin' it out, and having fun made me want to join them right then and there! (And I was in pajamas!) Oh, how I reminisced of my bygone dance class days. (happy sigh)

Have an excellent and active weekend!

And what an exceptional week to do so. I read some great posts that may have you rethinking a few of your daily habits.

water-bottle.jpg

Workout mommy wrote two informative posts about the controversial chemical found in many water bottles and canned foods. Bisphenol-A (BPA) can leak out of the plastic and into your food/drink. (Nice!) BPA is associated with an increased risk for breast and prostate cancers, fertility difficulties, and behavioral problems in children when exposed in the womb. (Even better!)
Personally, I am tossing my used (and reused and reused) plastic water bottle in favor of a less toxic vessel!chemicals.jpg

While you're tossing your BPA-laced plastic bottles into the recycling bin, you may want to get rid of those packets of Splenda too. JoLynn at The Fit Shack wrote an eye-opening post on how Splenda is not a healthy and safe sweetener as those commercials make it out to be. Hey, folks in Splendaville! You're eating a chlorinated chemical! Mmmm... please pass the mustard gas.

Hey, it's Friday, so let's end on a positive note here. I want to share the triumphs of Cindy, from Go Workout Mom, and Melanie from, Life is a Marathon, both of whom completed the Country Music ½ Marathon this past weekend. Awesome job, ladies! You know I live vicariously through you, right? ;)

Have a relaxing, yet active, weekend, everyone!
